5'0" x 7'10" Antique Persian Qashqai Tribal Rug

The Quashqai are, or were when this carpet was woven, one of the great nomadic peoples of southwest Iran. Their lives were truly dictated by the seasons and the needs of their flocks. The carpets they created are the real "poems in thread", or so thought the American writer James Michener. Large in size and, as regards its design (which compose of a repeating vases filled with tulips and other small flowers), unusual, this Qashqai rug was woven in the waning light of the nineteenth century. Colors are all derived from vegetable dyes, including at least three shades of indigo, walnut husk, madder in a shades of deep rust and brighter shrimp, and natural ivory. The piece is woven in a Turkish (symmetrical knot) and reasonably finely (at about 94.5 knots-per-square-inch; for 532,753 knots in the rug) with a wool warp and weft (the weft is dyed red). Really an understated and lovely piece in its full, original dimensions, and in fine condition with only a few small repairs.

Returns & Refunds: At Talbot Oriental Rugs, customer satisfaction is our number one priority. If you are unhappy with your purchase, you may return it within 3 days of receipt for a full refund. Shipping charges are non-refundable. To receive a full refund in the original form of payment: the item must be shipped within 3 days of receipt; its tags must be attached, and; the item must be returned in the condition it was received. The customer is responsible for return packing and shipping cost. Any items damaged, soiled or altered in any way will not be accepted for return. If we do not hear from you within 3 days of receipt, we will consider the sale final. You may use the original packing material but be sure to remove or cover any other labels. You have three return options to choose from:

• Any Carrier: We provide you with a return shipping address, and you provide and pay for your own mailing label using the carrier of your choice.
• FedEx drop-off: We provide you with a pre-paid shipping label for your return package and you take it to an authorized FedEx shipping location. This option allows you to track your package on its way back to us. The cost for this option will be deducted from your refund amount.
• FedEx pickup: We contact FedEx and arrange for them to pick up your package from the address it was originally shipped to. This is ideal for large or heavy items that are hard to carry. This option allows you to track your package on its way back to us. The cost for this option will be deducted from your refund amount.
